Although the headline U.S. to Provide Israel With 20 Joint Strike Fighters is somewhat alarming, given that these planes are known to have the edge over the Russian-made Iranian S-300 missile defence shield, I suppose we can rest assured that the delivery date stated in the article ("between 2015 and 2017") means that any earlier pre-emptive strike by Israel would meet with a devasting barrage of anti-aircraft fire?
Each S-300 can track a hundred targets at once and lock in and destroy 12 of them - from each missile. Iran is believed to have about 300 of them.
